Arches & Canyonlands National Parks, Utah Typical Workshop Schedule What Is Included Payment, Discounts, Cancellation, Refund Policies Return to Schedule of Offerings Return to Roger's Bio Page
This workshop will spend five days exploring these two very popular National Parks located in Southern Utah. Although geographically very close together, each park provides a different perspective of the geological formations that make Southern Utah a very unique place.
The workshop will be based out of Moab, Utah and begins in Arches National Park which includes the famous Delicate Arch as depicted on the Utah State license plate. Although this is the most recognized arch the park has many other remarkable arches and red sandstone formations which we will explore and photograph. Sunrise at Mesa Arch will be one of the highlights of the trip. Dead Horse Point near Canyon Lands is another area (Do you know why it is called Deadhorse Point? Youll find out during the workshop). From the many vista overlooks you can see the Colorado & Green Rivers as they wind their way through these parks like a large snake across the landscape.
Other areas of the park provide colorful mesas with unlimited patterns, colors, and textures carved in the stone. We will be visiting these parks during the fall after the large summer crowds and before the typical holiday visitors arrive. We will explore the popular, most photographed areas of both parks, but also some more unique sections of this great location.
